Yong Chun fistic play is excellent and remarkable branch of martial
arts in southern school. Its popularity can be clearly shown in the old
Chinese saying that in the north, there's Taiji while in the south
there's Yongchu. And its most outstanding representative is Bruce Lee,
who managed to make it known all over the world. Yongchun fistic play
centers around the internal work or function of the body. It also
focuses on the harmony between the heart and soul, power and will.
Thus, it is highly applicable for any actual combat and beneficial to
those going in for the practice of Wushu San Shou competition. The
fistic play is demonstrated by Deng Jieneng and Pan Yinglong, who both
have captured the nationwide gold medals of Chinese Traditional Martial
Arts Competition.
VCD 2: Southern Fistic Play:Yong Chun Styled Practicing Techniques with Wooden Pillar
Wooden pillar acts as the unique appliance of Yong Chun styled fistic
play. Different techniques such as fists, steps and even the whole body
can be practiced at the same time on the appliance. The fistic play
here is the combination of attacking skills or techniques of hands,
legs and feet as well. It's best exemplified by the consciousness of
actual combat and skills of beating opponents. The play is performed by
Liang Manzhi, the deputy director of Research Institute of Yong Chun
styled fistic play in the city of Foshan, Guangdong province. The
program here is demonstrated by the coach, Liang Yingchang, from the

VCD 3: Yong Chun Styled Practical Application
The core or soul of Yongchun fistic play is its practical applicaiton,
which can greatly sharpen the ability of the player's sensitiveness and
applicability. The technique has no fixed procedures, but proves
effective means in training and combat. The typical representative of
Bruce Lee's boxing skill actually comes from this technique in combat.
